Fast Food Vs Home Cooking

Today the society is very tired as well as overworked. Everyone is extremely busy and is constantly running a fast pace of life everyday. Regardless of the fact, whether their running to meet the hectic lifestyle and pace of life is precious or not, they run to meet the need effectively. To bring to a normal routine, you need to follow some cheap meal ideas so that you catch up some time to stretch and also save your hard earned money. You can provide a nutritious as well as wholesome dinner even with limited ideas and money, provided you plan and get the ingredients well on time.

The fast food makers have caught the running spree and have coaxed people into eating fast food. As people lack time, they just rush to the fast food and make themselves comfortable. The very idea of returning home after a tiring day or work and then later on cooking for the entire family is not done with a happy note and you are inclined to look on for some fast food. Though, you know it is not good for health, you ignore as they are readymade and you need not spend your good time in the hot kitchen. Moreover, you have to prepare for the coming day as well as help your children with homework, do the laundry work and clean the mess.

It is normally the parents who run in the aim of avoiding the hassles of running to grocery shopping, cleaning before and after dinner and cooking. They prefer to go home as well as relax so that they wake up and do them all over again. The main difficulty is that eating fast food inevitably causes obesity and is no way a healthy choice to be considered as the complete meal or food. There are cheap meal ideas that take very little time in preparation and coming home to eat a good meal without much expense itself makes the meal more delicious.

The cheap meal idea consists of meat, pasta, vegetable and rice in one dish. A quick stir with slices of meat or beef is good and chicken can also go good, add soy sauce and cook completely. Add and stir few vegetables to the same mix with a cup of water. The meat and vegetables get cooked with the rice. This makes a cheap meal idea and can be eaten contentedly as it has everything to make it an opulent and nutritious meal. You can also use macaroni as well as cheese and add some flavor with tomato sauce and make the food tastier. This will save your money and keep you in good health. The fast food is convenient food for one or two days, but is not recommended as daily food as it will cause your health.

Benefits of Working in the Fast Food Industry

Yes, I have worked in the fast food industry when I was way younger and let’s just say that… it’s the next best thing to slavery. No, I am kidding but there are many things that you can really learn when you work in the fast food industry and they all help you discover things about people, business, life and even yourself. I think everyone should work behind a fast food counter at least once in their life.

So, this is what being paid peanuts feel like

Oh… this is what it is like working from ground up. I don’t think it is a fact that is so glaringly apparent only in this country because generally speaking, fast food restaurants are known to hire part-timers or students or school leavers, hence, the low pay but frankly, it is a priceless (pardon the pun) experience because you will then know what it feels like to stand there the entire day and earn hardly enough pocket money for two meals.

I am totally sending my kids to work at a fast food restaurant.

Working in a fast food restaurant teaches you about teamwork, teamwork, teamwork, TEAMWORK. If someone in the back kitchen doesn’t defrost the chicken quick enough or someone stupidly forgets to heat up the gravy, everyone suffers. In essence, you come to work and you will feel the responsibility of reminding your co-workers about things that they might forget. If one person is too busy, the others may have to chip in.

Working in such an environment will help you learn about being responsible as a whole, not just as a person. One person fouls up, everyone gets it. This experience will help you learn to work in just about ANY environment in the future, be it a large IT firm or when you are running your own clothing retail outlet.

Managing people

Nothing teaches this better than being behind the counter… be it the cashier’s counter or the complaints counter. Managers need to learn how to motivate and organize tasks and people based on their capabilities and commitment while cashiers need to smile and be pleasant during their worst moments… like after their boyfriends just dumped them. Got dumped? There are customers to be served, serve them.

And of course, it doesn’t help during those moments that an irate and irrational customer walks up to the counter and you know they are dead wrong and yet they insist on being right and society demands that they are.

The speed of light

When it comes to fast food, people are impatient and you need to keep up to speed… like only ALL THE TIME. Need I say more?

So, yeah… working in the fast food industry sure has benefits.

Three reasons to consider food banks in San Diego for donations

People looking for a way to assist the community may want to consider food banks in San Diego for donations. There is a lot of talk about -food insecurity- in the media and it impacts about 15% of the population in the United States. This can involve many factors but one of the most common is not having enough economic resources to purchase the food needed for a household. Many people in this area do not know how they will obtain their next meals.

Long term changes to income in the area

People in the San Diego area are still feeling the impact of the recession. Unemployment is high but the real numbers are considered to be higher as people that are underemployed or have given up looking for jobs and are not counted in official statistics. This has nearly doubled the amount of households that are under some kind of financial distress. The actual amount of people that fall into this category is thought to be over 15% of the population. People are struggling to cut costs because they have significantly lower income or possibly no income. This makes them seek alternatives for food and other resources for meals.

Hungry children

Almost a half of a million people in the San Diego area live in poverty. About a quarter of a million of these people are school-age children. While these children can often receive free or reduced cost lunches at school, this cannot account for all their nutritional needs. There are also times of the year when school is not in session and these children have no access to food. In many homes, people are never sure how they will obtain their next meal.

Seniors at risk

Senior citizens often have limited incomes from Social Security or pensions. They may spend the majority of their money on housing and utilities with little money left for anything else. Some seniors may be able to access some food resources such as senior centers that offer lunches. Many find that transportation to these centers is an obstacle and not something that they can rely on regularly for food.

Supporting local food banks either through cash donations, food donations or service is one way to strengthen the community and help people to obtain food. In addition to individuals providing donations, businesses may also want to assist by sponsoring food drives. This helps the community but it can also be a source of good publicity for a business.

Chinese Food Today presents a short insight into the place of Chinese cuisine in western society today. It has become an increasingly popular take out food in the United States. As Americans become more aware of the need for lifestyle changes to fight problems such as obesity and heart disease, it is becoming a healthy ‘fast food’ alternative to unhealthy burgers and fries.

To most, it would certainly seem that Chinese food must be healthier than the typical “fast food” diet. While usually healthier than typical burgers and fries, a closer look shows that Chinese take out in America is typically not as healthy as the food found on the tables of the average Chinese family.

There are a couple of main reasons for this.

Chinese food in our American restaurants often has considerably more meat, often red meat, and is served in much bigger portion sizes here, than in China.
The food on the table of families in China would be found to have a much larger portion of vegetables than of meat. In fact, until the modernization of the past century, particularly in rural areas, meat would only have been consumed occasionally. However, some studies are beginning to show that modernization has brought with it in China, a higher consumption of meats and fats and so, an increase in certain conditions associated with overeating meat and/or fat.

Download from (c)
Food is also served differently in China which causes it to be a healthier dish. This difference has to do with portion size. The meals we order for take out at our local Chinese restaurant and take home to consume in a single serving are the size of shared main courses in China. Chinese food of this size would normally have been the shared dishes in the center of a communal table if served traditionally.
In China, each person at the table is given their own serving of rice or noodles but the main dishes, consisting mainly of bite sized vegetables and some meat, would be placed in the middle of the table and shared by all. In fact, each person at the table would have eaten straight from the serving dishes since they do not share our habit of obtaining personal portions of main dishes from the serving dishes and putting them on individual plates.

Understandably, some Americans do not consider this part of the traditional Chinese food ‘habit’ to be healthier, as all persons at the table would be placing used chopsticks into shared or communal containers of the main dishes. However, it could be argued that the benefits of healthier habits such as eating less meat and smaller portions far outweigh the risks of perhaps passing germs through placing used chopsticks into a communal dish. In any case, even “American-style” Chinese food is a healthier option than burgers and fries.

Enjoy Hue beef noodle, the typical culinary art of Hue with Vietnam visa

According to Vietnam visa, In Hue city, the former citadel of Vietnam, it doesn’t take you a lot of money to dine like a King!

Hue beef noodle takes its origin from the Royal Hue City of Central Vietnam. The broth is from cooking beef bones for a long period of time as well as a variety of different spices including lemongrass. How does it taste? Well, having a bowl of Hue beef noodle, you will easily recognize that it is completely different from Pho since the former’s beef broth is much more spicy.

How to make it? Learning how to make a clear broth from bone and meat is quite a difficult task. After being selected from the market, the fresh beef will be shredded, boiled and taken out of the water to obtain a delicious clear broth. A typical version of Hue beef noodle must include pork, roast beef, pig’s blood, Vietnamese salami, Hue’s style salami, shrimp sauce and chopped lettuce.

The interesting thing is that, the amount of salt put in the beef noodle recipe varies between seasons. For example, during summer, Hue beef noodle soup is served with soy bean, mint and different kinds of lettuce while in the winter, the recipe is saltier added with lemongrass and fish.

The best Hue beef noodle comes from the street vendors who work from dawn to early morning. In Hue, when night lights are on, you can enjoy a good bowl of this noodle soup at restaurants in front of No. 84 Mai Thuc Loan Street. This hot dish represents just a few of the treasures of Hue’s traditional cuisine. Clam-rice and the flour pies like beo (streamed flour cupcakes), nam (wrapped shrimp pies) and loc (tapioca and shrimp pies), for examples, are part of the ancient capital’s culinary heritage.

Food Poisoning In Restaurants – How To Take Action

Have you ever eaten at a restaurant and later became violently ill, even to the point of being hospitalized? If so, you may have been the victim of food poisoning due to the restaurant’s negligence regarding food safety rules and regulations, and may be entitled to compensation for your suffering and time off from work.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that there are approximately over 70 million incidences each year in the United States, with many of these cases going unreported because the individual affected was not aware that it was indeed caused by ineffective compliance to food safety rules. Symptoms of food poisoning include uncontrollable vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, fever, and severe exhaustion. If you think you may have eaten contaminated food at a restaurant or any other establishment which serves food, you may be able to file a lawsuit and receive monies if you win the case against the negligent party.

Initially, what you should do if you think you are the victim of food poisoning is go to the hospital immediately to be diagnosed, documented and treated. Blood will be drawn from you and tested for pathogens which caused the food poisoning. It is important to your case to have documentation provided by a doctor that states you are indeed experiencing a bout of food poisoning after eating at a particular restaurant so state food regulators can examine the cleanliness of the restaurant.

The amount of the medical care necessary for you to fully recover from the food poisoning will be deemed your “damages” when you go to court, which is what you will ask the negligent party to compensate you with. Food poisoning, in legal terms, is actually considered a “tort”, or “unpremeditated negligence” on the part of the defendant, or the “tortfeasor”. As a person who experiences illness from a tortuous injury such as food poisoning, you will warrant compensation for your physical as well as emotional and financial (lost wages) damages the defendant has caused you to suffer.

You will need to file your lawsuit within one year (most states have a one year statute of limitations) in small claims court, but the sooner you file and retain a lawyer, the better your chances of winning the case. You do not have to have a lawyer but it is recommended since the origin of your illness must be shown that it was indeed the restaurant you had eaten at prior to becoming sick. There are attorneys which specialize in tort cases. In most states, if you are suing for more than $5,000, you will have to file your lawsuit in municipal court; anything above $25,000 and you will have file it in the Superior Courts. Since this is a civil lawsuit, the burden of evidence will be on you as the claimant. This is where having a good tort lawyer comes in, as he will be skilled in knowing what exactly is necessary to prove your case.
